The 6-Hi Project: Day Two

Posted by Trott

Trott Day Two Results:
  • 11:41am, Kezar Dr. in Golden Gate Park: Said "hi" to a cute woman whizzing by on a bicycle. Study questions: How many times to do I have to say "hi" to someone going by in the opposite direction before I realize that that doesn't work? More importantly, why did I think a bicyclist would be more inclined to respond?
  • 12:22pm, Baker St. at McAllister: Made eye contact and said "hi" to someone who might have been waiting for a bus. She meekly reciprocated with her own "hi" and that was that. Study questions: Was this woman waiting for a bus? Or was she waiting for some random guy to say "hi"?
  • 6:22 through 6:26pm, Castro St. between 17th St. and 19th St.: Realized I had to get in four "hi's" quickly and said "hi" to four women I passed on the street, all of whom completely ignored me. Study questions: Is this lame? Or what?
