The 6-Hi Project: Day Three

Posted by Trott

Trott Day Three Results:

  • No response from a woman outside Phil'z Coffee, a woman on a bicycle waiting for the light to change at 25th and South Van Ness, another woman on a bicycle also waiting for a light to change at 18th and Valencia, and a woman working on a laptop in the One World Cafe.
  • I got a mumbled response from a woman unloading a car on Baker St. near McAllister.
  • I got a broad smile from a woman walking at the intersection of McAllister St. and Lyon St.
  • Bonus "hi": I got a smile and a "hi" from a woman walking outside the Cable Car Diner or whatever it's called on Geary Blvd.

Dude:
Eye contact is key, then say "hi" and smile.
To get a response, you need to get their attention first. Just yelling "hi" will likely result in an instinctive reaction.
Advice: A person with earbuds does not want to converse ;-)
